Abstract

This study aims to enhance early childhood mathematics learning independence by developing artificial intelligence (AI)-based learning media at Santa Maria Kindergarten, Surabaya. Mathematics is a fundamental skill that can be used to solve problems in everyday life, so it needs to be taught from an early age. However, some find it difficult, so technology, particularly AI, is needed in early childhood education, particularly for mathematics learning. The research method used is the Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation (ADDIE) development model. The research subjects consisted of 41 children in group B. Based on the results of the pretest and posttest conducted, the average increase of 12.78% indicates that the AI-based learning approach is effective in strengthening the concept of independent learning. These results indicate that the use of AI-based media is effective in improving early childhood learning independence and understanding of basic mathematical concepts. This media provides an adaptive learning environment that provides immediate feedback and adjusts challenges to suit the child's abilities. © 2026 The Author(s).
